Aaniin! Welcome! Thank you for visiting. This is the official website for the graphic novel series called Balance. The series is comprised of four parts, with one graphic novel dedicated to each of the four cardinal directions. The series begins with the 300 page GIIWEDANONG or The North.

Giiwedanong tells the tale of the Creation, Destruction and Re-Creation of the world of the Anishinaabe people, of how humans lost their way and of the consequences of their actions.
The first part of Giiwedanong is the Anishinaabe Creation Story which is due to be released under the Bear Moon - in February 2017.

Darren Emond (DE) is the illustrator and the black and white illustrations posted here are samples of his work.
Darin Corbiere (DC) is the author of the series, and other images on this site are his.

Together, they form DEDC-comics - Authentic, Original Aboriginal Stories.
